Water Alert: Sub-Zero & Single Digit Temperatures

SUMPTER CITY HALL, January 12, 2024 – Over the next four to five days, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting sub-zero and single digit temperatures for Northeastern Oregon.
In the city of Sumpter, these temperatures can result in frozen service pipelines for water customers and the city mainlines as well. The city is requesting that all residents/commercial customers receiving city water allow faucets in your home/building to drip during this extreme temperature event.
